Grades
Philosophical note: Tests and grades are an attempt to judge how much knowledge one has accumulated. It really is a hard thing to test knowledge and quantify it because sometimes people just have problems with tests, but we've got to do it, so the following are the numbers we'll use. If you're struggling or are having difficulty with something, contact me and I'll help as best I can. I'll match your effort. But be warned . . . I can smell bull feces a mile away.
Grades are a summation of lecture and lab test scores with additional points from pop quizzes. Grades will be posted on oncourse.
97% and above A+
90 -96%: A
87 to 89.9%: B+
80 to 86.9%: B
77 to 79.9%: C+
70 to 76.9%: C
67 to 69.9%: D+
60 to 66.9%: D
I round scores to one decimal point. Beyond that the math gets too difficult.
